PM Internship 2024 :- Hello friends, the government has started an important initiative to promote skill development and employment opportunities of youth, which is known as PM Internship Portal. Under this portal, 10th pass students will also get a chance to do internship, along with a stipend of Rs 5000 every month. This scheme is especially for those youth who want to gain professional experience along with education and are looking for new employment opportunities.

What is a PM internship ?

Pm Intership :- Announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget 2024, the objective of this scheme is to provide an opportunity to do internship in the top 500 companies of India for 12 months. Under this, 1 crore youth are to be given internship, out of which 1.25 lakh youth are to be given internship and financial assistance in the first year.

PM Internship : Objective of this scheme

Objective :- This scheme’s primary goal is to offer students practical experience during their academic tenure, enabling them to be better equipped for the workforce upon graduation. This initiative aims to enhance their confidence and provide them with a deeper understanding of the professional environment. The Prime Minister’s Internship Portal has been established to foster the skills of young individuals and increase their employability.

PM Internship : Who can apply?

Who can apply ? :- Eligible students who have completed their 10th standard education can submit their applications under this scheme. To do so, they must register through the Prime Minister’s Internship Portal. The internship experience will provide students with the opportunity to explore various fields, including technology, management, government services, and others. This exposure will enable them to make informed decisions about their career paths, aligning with their individual interests and laying the groundwork for their future professional pursuits.

PM Internship : Financial Aid

Financial Aid :- Under this scheme, the intern will be given an honorarium of Rs 5000 per month. In this internship scheme, 500 trusted companies will provide internships, the names of those companies are as follows such as Tata NTPC and other companies. Out of this, Rs 4500 will be a monthly allowance, and 500 will be given by the company, which will help them focus on their duties without any financial worries. And 6000 will be given separately as contingency fund..

PM Internship :Education Qualification

Qualification:- Educational Qualification: The candidate is required to have completed their secondary education, specifically possessing a 12th class diploma.

Age Limit: The candidate’s age must fall within the range of 21 to 24 years.

Other Conditions: The candidate’s family does not have any member employed in a government position or receiving government aid. Additionally, the family’s annual income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.

Applicants may submit their application through the online portal. The selection process will be based on the candidate’s educational qualifications, work experience, and other relevant factors. The selected interns will receive essential training, enabling them to perform their duties effectively during the internship.

PM Internship: Stipend and Duration

Stipend and Duration :- A monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 will be provided during the internship. This financial support will enable students to gain professional experience alongside their studies. The internship typically lasts from 6 months to 1 year, during which time students will work to develop their skills and acquire practical knowledge.

PM Internship: Selection Process

Selection Process :- A group of candidates will be shortlisted for each internship opportunity through the portal. The shortlisting process will be based on the preferences of the candidates and the requirements posted by the companies. In the shortlisting process, criteria that prioritize low employability and ensure broad representation in the applicant base will be considered. The shortlisting criteria are intended to promote diversity and social inclusiveness in the internship program. To ensure the above, the portal will use tools to give representation to all sections of the population such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Persons with Disabilities. Depending on the number of offers for each internship, approximately double/triple the number of names along with resumes of candidates will be sent to the company for selection. Companies will be able to select candidates and offer internships based on their respective selection criteria and procedures. Once the offer is sent to the candidate by the company, the candidate will be able to express acceptance through the portal. The detailed implementation mechanism for the pilot project is given in Annexure-I. This mechanism will be determined by this Ministry.
